Stephen Birnbaum
Steve is a Big Four-trained financial executive with a BA in Economics from Whitman College and a CPA.. His diverse experience spans FP&A, budgeting and forecasting, risk mitigation, inventory and cash management, and leading investor-driven fundraising transactions while managing liquidity and reducing debt; he’s also led annual audits under AICPA and PCAOB standards and built out complex financial models, KPI dashboards and internal controls for multiple companies. Before TGG, he was Senior Director of Financial Operations at Smart Wires — where he helped take the company public and supported more than $100 million in private equity and debt fundraises — and VP of Finance at Sense Biodetection, a biomedical device start-up. He’s been a TGG Consulting CFO since 2023, and says he particularly enjoys mentoring and coaching high-potential finance professionals and partnering with his multiple client business owners. Outside of work, Steve loves international travel and days at the beach with his high-school sweetheart and his dog, Milo.
